What is Cafe Blameless?

Cafe Blameless is a third space where you can find great coffee, food to fill you up, community to engage with, or a place to work, meet, rest, or just be.

Opening in September 2026, we are excited to be serving Gloom and Elm roasts, pastries Radiant Flavors, sandwiches, paninis, and more. We are also thrilled that our opening will be a major part of making such a beautiful space available to the public on a daily basis.

We are just getting started on all we hope to do here. Come in and chat with us and let's build in our space together.

It's in a church? What the FAQ?

If this is your first question or main objection, we get it. Ain't nobody here gonna wave books, or guilt, or the implements of state murder (crosses) in anyone's face about anydamn'd thing.

What is a "church," anyway? Spaces in which to gather are a fundamental part of our history and how people join together as community.

We, all of us, need places to break bread and tell our stories. To sing and dance, go a little slower, and remember what living can look like when we shake ourselves off and look around at each other, and offer something genuine of ourselves towards a neighbor.

A smile. A smoke. A tale, or even just sitting and staring in the same direction a while after a tough day.

In this space, you can just be.

It is with this mindset that we come together here, spanning beliefs and biases, to help build and share one helluva community space - working to fill this big beautiful room with laughter, art, plant babies, good people, oxford commas, and all sorts of other cool shit.

We also very much enjoy working with the building and Pastor Kent as our partner, and we've included his own words just below.

“Churches were meant to be helpful, "third places," where people get together, make important memories, and find belonging. Having churches that sit empty most days doesn’t make sense if that’s the goal (or when we think about the fact that they don’t pay property taxes because they’re meant to be beneficial to the community.) I hope that anyone and everyone who walks by a building like this can think of ways that they could be glad this building is here.
